Choose Your Session to Fit YOUR Style and Personality

(Oh, and Mom & Dad Can Get What They Want, Too.)

At Lisa's Portraits you never get stuck with photographs you don't like. You can choose a session to emphasize YOUR personality or what you want YOUR portraits to be like. First, decide what locations will best portray your personality or the look you want. We suggest taking most of your portraits on location, like: at the ball park, by a lake or pond, in a concert hall, in your yard, in your home, at your favorite park. If you want, you can take your formal, traditional, and cap 'n gown portraits outside too, or some of them in the studio. Second, decide what outfits you want to wear. Don't forget cap 'n gown (we have caps & gowns for every school), uniform, letter jacket, etc., as well as your casual, dressy, formal, and "traditional" clothes. You may have AS MANY OUTFITS as you want! Third, choose what props and people to include in your portraits to help show your personality or interests how about your wheels, musical instrument, hat, pet, sports gear, awards, hobby, and friends, sibling(s), or parent(s). Last, count the locations and think about how long it will take you to change into all of your outfits, so you can determine which session is right for you. The differences in the sessions is the amount of time allowed and the number of locations to be included. Bonus: You may have one additional session location, without "going up a session," if it is a location Lisa hasn't been too in the last 12 months, your home and yard will qualify.

WHEN YOU SCHEDULE you must EITHER pay a Session Fee (that pays for Lisa's time and does NOT go towards your portraits) OR pay a Minimum Portrait Purchase Fee (that goes Completely towards your portraits. The Minimum Purchase keeps you from having to pay the Session Fee, giving you a FREE Session. Either way, one of the Fees is paid when you schedule your portrait session time to reserve your appointment. We can accept American Express, Discover, Visa, MasterCard, and checks over the phone when you schedule. If you wish to pay in person, we can ONLY hold a session time for 24 hours until we receive your Session or Minimum Purchase Fee.

SO, HOW MUCH DOES ALL THIS COST?

It's not what you pay for your Senior Portraits that matters;

It's what you GET for what you pay THAT'S value.

EXCEPTIONAL VALUES

The big question on many seniors' (and their parents') minds is, "How much are senior portraits?" The answer is, "Not as much as you might think!" At Lisa's Portraits, you decide not only what aspects of your personality you want to portray, what outfits to wear, what props to use, and what locations you want, but you also determine the exact number of photographs you will need; there are no minimum orders, no required packages of any kind. If you need only one portrait, you can get just one. If you need thirteen, or one hundred forty-seven, then that's what you can order. It's easy!

LOTS OF CHOICES

You can select from one-pose packages or multi-pose packages from just $595 to $1920 that includes up to 24 poses for one 20x24" wall portrait, 4 smaller portraits, 80 wallets, a 24-pose folio for 4x5" portraits, a 16x24" 5-image digital collage, a 10-page 20-image coffee table book, a 10x20" 3-image Art piece, and a DVD Slide Show of all the images we show you from at your projection appointment from your session. Lots of Value!

Wallet portraits go from $15 each (no one really buys them like this) to $.88 each, depending on quantity, and most seniors get to choose more than one pose for their wallets, something you won't find elsewhere.

Gift portraits are available individually from $60 to $120, depending on if you are buying them individually or with a package. Special packages can drastically reduce your cost per photograph. So your choices are many, the flexibility unlimited.

OUTSTANDING OPTIONS

At Lisa's Portraits, you can choose from several options you may not even be offered at other studios. You can have as many clothing changes as you want! Included in MOST finishes are the important things: mounting of the portraits to art board, foam core, or canvas for increased durability. And the application of a tough acrylic finish for protection against the elements and Ultra Violet Light damage (the number one cause of fading). Any kind of retouching that you can imagine to make you and your photographs look better can be done by our lab's computer technicians mostly for FREE, or at least for a very reasonable cost. Also included for all wallet orders are FREE Deluxe Acrylic Wallet Boxes. And for ALL our Seniors, who can submit photos for their yearbook, a FREE yearbook wallet made to your year-book's exact specifications.

Some of your Choices and Options include many different

Portrait Finishes

SELECTING A STYLE TO FIT YOUR NEEDS

Your selections begin with deciding on which styles (or finishes) you prefer. None is "better" than another, rather, it is a personal choice based on the mood and feeling you wish to convey with the portrait. The price difference is determined by the additional hand work involved.

ALL STYLES INCLUDE (unless otherwise noted):

A rich and very durable acrylic finish applied to the portrait surface for protection from finger prints, moisture, and ultra violet light (which is the number one cause of photographs fading.) This finish eliminates the need for glass in front of the photographs, if you aren't matting them, so there won't be a glare and they won't stick to the glass. The finish is even durable enough to gently clean with a damp cloth if you ever open a shaken coke can in front of it and get it sticky. Each portrait is then mounted to foam core or canvas (11x14 or larger), or photographic mount board for smaller portraits for added durability.

PASTEL. The Pastel is our most popular finish. It turns an ordinary color portrait into a Pastel piece of personalized art. Using state-of-the-art computer technology the photograph is changed into a piece of art with the look of a fine pastel.  The combined effect is soft and elegant.  Due to the process, a light acrylic finish is applied to the pastel.  It is best if these are framed with glass to protect them, and matting to keep them from touching and sticking to the glass.  Pastels are most enjoyable with face sizes of 3" or larger. A pastel can be displayed anywhere fine art would be appreciated.

OLD MASTERS. The finest techniques are used to produce the Old Master's Portrait. The emulsion is carefully adhered to artist's canvas and is beautifully textured with hand painted brush strokes. This finish truly resembles the paintings of the old masters and can be displayed with great pride. Recommended for 11x14 and larger, and only with face sizes of 4" or larger, so the texture won't distort the face(s).

SOVEREIGN. The Sovereign Portrait is beautifully applied to canvas, which gives it the texture of a fine painting of heirloom quality that you will treasure for years. Recommended for 11x14 and larger, and only with face sizes of 4" or larger, so the texture won't distort the face(s).

COLOR. The Color Portrait brings gift portraits at a very affordable price. The surface is untextured. Color portraits are mounted on foam core when they are 11x14 or larger and on mount board when they are 5x7 or 8x10, unless they will go in an album or folio. The Color finish is available in any size, wallet to "40x60."

SPOT-COLORED BLACK & WHITE. Spot-Coloring is done with digital technology, allowing whatever you desire to be accented. This can look like a portrait from the early 1900's where the hair, eyes, and/or clothing is subtly colored. Or accent items can be colored like in a Hallmark card. You may choose what to have colored and the colors, or we can help you decide. There is a flat, one-time fee per image for the digital work, and then all of the prints you want are purchased at the same price as Color prints. These can be printed in any size, wallet to "40x60."

SEPIA TONE. Instead of being turned into a black & white, the image becomes a brown and cream-colored portrait. This was often done in old photographs as a way to preserve them. Now it is used to achieve a nostalgic effect. These can be done in any size, wallet to "40x60."

BLACK & WHITE. A black & white portrait can be made even from a color image. There is nothing like a traditional black & white portrait. Due to the process, the acrylic finish cannot be applied to a black & white without causing damage. So, these have a special photographic laminate applied to sizes 4x5 and larger. Black & white portraits can be made in any size, even wallets, wallet to "20x30."

METALLIC. Your portraits will have an added depth and vividness when printed on pearlescent Metallic Paper. The sharp details and beautifully saturated colors make it look like the person or people could just pop out. It is best when the background has some lights and darks in it, like a field of flowers or sunshine thru greenery. Metallic portraits can be from wallets to 30x40s and make great business cards.

STANDARD RETOUCHING INCLUDED

Our portraits include standard retouching for no additional cost. We do ask that YOU REQUEST SPECIFICALLY the RETOUCHING YOU WANT. We have clients who like their portraits very natural, some who like minimal retouching, and some who like lots of retouching.

Any kind of retouching or changing of portraits imaginable can be accomplished in this age of computers. You may have blemishes, bags or circles under the eyes, or facial lines softened or removed if you wish. We commonly have glass glare and braces removed, clothing colors changed, objects taken out, people put in or taken out or switched from one image to another, double chins or excess weight removed, tummies tucked, thighs or arms slimmed down. The list is endless. The rule of thumb on the price is: if what you want done involves combining parts of two or more images, removing braces, trimming arms or you want more than three items retouched per pose, the cost is $58 for retouching. Other retouching is usually no extra cost, you just have to request it. Please, ask us about any concerns you may have.

INCREDIBLE GUARANTEE

All these super values aren't worth much if you're not happy with your portraits. That's where Lisa's Portraits really shines because we don't rest until you're satisfied. You won't find a guarantee like this anywhere else:

If before the day of your portrait session you have a Planning Session with us, I GUARANTEE your portraits will meet or exceed your expectations, or I will reprint, rephotograph, or replace them.

If, for any reason you are unhappy with your original images, just tell us when we are projecting your images for you (before you place your order.) Lots of times there are things we can retouch, crop, or do in printing that will make the portraits EXACTLY what you want. If not, we will schedule a time to take additional portraits to your liking of those concepts at no extra cost to you, or refund your entire session fee, PLUS FIVE DOLLARS!

Plus, if your finished portraits don't turn out exactly as you thought they would, let us know and we will make them over to your liking, or your money will be refunded, PLUS FIVE DOLLARS!

AND, if you have us frame your portrait(s) before you take them home, we Unconditionally Guarantee both the photograph(s) and the frame(s) for Life!

Lisa uses the best artists, printers, photographic experts, and state-of-the-art equipment available. Plus, she uses almost three decades of experience to bring you the highest quality portraits combined with unmatched service.

BEWARE OF FAKE PHOTOS

Did you know that the photos on many of the fancy color brochures and post cards you're getting in the mail weren't even created by the studios that are sending them? It's nice to know that every portrait on this web page and any of Lisa's mailings was photographed by Lisa Garner. What you see is what you get at Lisa's Portraits.

Don't Pay Too Much!

No doubt you have received mailings from other studios advertising "low prices." Senior portraits are often advertised on price alone, because prices are easy to compare. What isn't as easy to compare is what you get for your money. When you shop for ArizonaTM jeans or AdidasTM shoes you always go for the lowest price because you know that those products are the same wherever you get them. You can even compare the prices over the phone. But senior photographs are not the same at all between any two studios. It's like comparing hair stylists or auto body repairmen over the phone. The "quality" in a portrait is determined by many factors: did the portrait capture your personality, was your expression natural, was the location unique to you, were the props yours or the same ones everyone else used, even the little things, like: how were you treated by the staff, was it fun, did they start and end on time, and did they deliver everything as promised?

Because you commit to hiring a studio before you see the results (you can't "test-drive" your senior portraits like you can a car), your decision of where to go is even more important.

At Lisa's Portraits, we feel that value is more important than price, because price just tells you how much you paid. But value says that you got a great deal for what you paid, and that's what we've stood for since 1981.

So it's easy to see how you could actually end up paying too much for a "cheap" portrait, especially if you don't like it. Don't fall into that trap. Go with the best schedule your appointment with Lisa's Portraits today!

Often-Asked Questions at Lisa's Portraits:

What will my session be like?

More FUN than you ever imagined photographs could be! You might be a little nervous when you first arrive, but not for long! Lisa's easy going manner and crazy sense of humor will get you relaxed in no time. Of course, you'll feel even more comfortable if you're listening to your favorite tunes, so be sure to bring some tapes or CDs. Soon you'll forget all about being nervous. Our number one philosophy is: If you have fun, you'll look great!

Can I bring someone to watch?

Absolutely! Most seniors bring someone along to their session, whether it's a parent, friend, or sibling. It's nice to have some moral support, so feel free to have someone come with you someone you get along well with they can even peek through the camera to see how great you look! Better yet, bring another senior friend and have your sessions taken at the same time you'll both have a blast, and you can even have a few poses taken of you together, if you'd like (no extra charge, of course).

I want to wait until later in my senior year for my appointment. What's the hurry?

Even if you want to wait until later for your session, it's still extremely important to call now for your appointment. Session times book up fast. Those who call later may be put on a waiting list for cancellations or have to be scheduled so late you risk not having time to take them during your very busy senior year, not being in the yearbook, or even miss having photographs in time to send out with your graduation invitations. So don't wait, schedule now!

What if I like different poses than my parents?

No problem! You will have lots of different poses, so when you select your portraits you won't be limited to just one pose. Most seniors choose two to eight so you can get what you want, and your parents can get what they want. At Lisa's Portraits, we make choosing your portraits easy!

When do I pay?

Either your Session Fee (does not go towards your portraits) OR Minimum Portrait Purchase Fee (goes completely towards your portraits) must be paid at the time you schedule your session to reserve your session time. Until we receive your Session or Minimum Purchase Fee, we still consider that time unreserved. You may pay your Fee by credit card or check over the phone, or make an appointment to pay in person. We can only hold an appointment for 24 hours without your fee.

When you come to view your images and place your order, if you paid a Minimum Purchase it will be subtracted from the total of your order. If you still have a balance due, you may pay all of it then, or half then and the other half when your portraits are ready. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and can design a layaway plan that's right for you.

When will my portraits be ready?

Fast! When we take your portraits we will schedule you, and anyone involved with the decision of purchasing your portraits an appointment to view and order your portraits, approximately 4-7 days after your session. With our unique projection viewing system, we will show you your portraits in all the available sizes so you can see how they will look in the sizes you are considering. You will be able to compare multiple images, see and choose cropping, and even choose matting and framing. And we will be there to answer all your questions so you will know exactly how your portraits can be enhanced and the way to get the best prices.

When you order it usually takes only 3-4 weeks for your finished portraits. Best of all, you'll have an appointment for each visit, so you'll always know exactly when everything will be ready & when we will be able to give you our undivided attention. Please be sure to call & reschedule if you cannot make it to one of your appointments on time.

But, what if I don't like my portraits?

We recommend you read How to Prepare for Your Senior Portraits. We also encourage you and one of your parents to have a no-cost, no-obligation Planning session with us to discuss what you want your portraits to be like. If you have a Planning Session you will receive $30 OFF your portraits and if before the day of your portrait session you have a Planning Session with us, I GUARANTEE your portraits will meet or exceed your expectations, or I will reprint, rephotograph, or replace them.

All you have to do is let us know, and give us a chance to fix it. Lisa has built her rock-solid reputation by adhering to this commitment to excellence and making sure you're happy with your entire experience at Lisa's Portraits!
