Only an experienced outdoor portrait photographer can promise you photographs in the wide open spaces where bluebonnets grow that have lighting you would expect in a fine portrait, instead of harsh light and shadows from the sunlight. Only a photographer experienced with cutting out unwanted backgrounds can come up with the right angle to cut out the cars and houses, and benefit from the best lighting, before your child's attention span is over. And, only a very patient photographer who truly loves kids, and people of all ages, will be able to let everyone be themselves, and be able to capture their natural expressions.

Lisa has experience taking portraits in the bluebonnets that have beautiful portrait lighting, with no cars or houses showing. Lisa has the reputation of being a photographer who truly loves working with children of all ages, as well as adults. She is also the only photographer around who allows kids to be themselves instead of posing them, and who won't pose adults unless they ask to be. Every year you don't think about it until it is too late! The bluebonnets will be in full bloom, and same as last year, you just didn't make the time or couldn't get an appointment to have that treasured portrait taken. So, you make that mental note to BE SURE to get them done next season. Well, we wanted to take some of the burden off all those important things you have to remember and do the reminding for you! Now is the time to plan those portraits! The bluebonnets will be here soon enough, usually two or three weeks during late March and early April. We reserve appointments year round. If you would like to have your portraits taken in the Bluebonnets, schedule your appointment now. And once these flowers begin to bloom we'll give you a call to let you know where to meet Lisa on your scheduled day. It's that simple. If you already know you just couldn't let another year go by without having these taken, you must prepay your session fee in order to guarantee an appointment with Lisa once the rush is on to have these beautiful portraits taken. If we need to reschedule your appointment because the Bluebonnets bloom earlier or later than we expected, you will have first priority with your paid session or reservation fee.

We pre-book Bluebonnet Portraits during the last week of March. This usually leaves the first week of April to use for rescheduling because of weather or illness.  Don't wait to book your session until only the last week is available, because sometimes the bluebonnets don't last that long.

Due to the limited time these portraits can be taken everyone must pay a fee when they schedule their appointment, no matter how far in advance it is scheduled: either a Footsteps Fee, or a Minimum Purchase or a Session Fee must be paid. Appointment times are limited.

Azaleas Azaleas Azaleas

Have you ever seen a photograph that had such a beautiful background that it overpowered who was in it? Maybe you don't even remember who was in the portrait, or what their expressions were. Azaleas make beautiful backgrounds for portraits. But because a portrait is supposed to show someone's personality, Azaleas need to be just that, the background, not the main emphasis in a portrait.

Lisa has experience making busy, luscious scenery be secondary to her clients in their portraits. Lisa knows special techniques that allow the people in her portraits to stand out from the visual jumble a natural flower setting creates. The people look like they could just step out of the portrait. She also knows how to let her client's personalities emerge so their personalities, who they really are, not just what they look like, become the main emphasis in the portrait. A personality portrait, that, incidentally, is taken in the Azaleas.

If you look at the gorgeous Azaleas and want portraits taken with them, but you want portraits taken with the Azaleas that show your personalities, not photographs OF the Azaleas, you need to schedule with Lisa, today. Azaleas bloom during parts of March and April, depending on the variety. If you have your own bushes, you will have an idea of when they bloom, otherwise we suggest scheduling during early April and we will reschedule, if necessary. Priority will be given to those who pay a Session Fee, Minimum Purchase or Footsteps Fee in advance. Appointment times are limited.

Coreopsis, Those Pretty Daisy-Like Flowers

That Look Like a Sea of Yellow

Have a picnic or just sit or lay in a sea of yellow flowers. Sound dreamy? It makes enchanting portraits. Of course, it takes an experienced photographer to capture the magic in these photographs without having harsh lighting from the bright Texas sun. Making the distracting shadows disappear and keeping the brilliant color of the Coreopsis, while showing the uniqueness of each person's personality is a combination that Lisa has mastered.

Cowboys & Cowgirls for Rodeo Time

It's Rodeo time! Get out your hats, boots, & favorite jeans.  Include the whole family, just the baby or kids.  Or have just Mom or Dad with just the baby or with the kids.

Cowboy photos can be in the studio with a simple white background.  Or they can be taken outside with trees, shrubs, even a couple of bails of hay.  Use our saddle or yours for an accent.  These fun photographs can be Dad in his hat playing with the baby in just jeans. Or your baby cowboy leaning, laying or sitting on a saddle, either in the studio or outside.  Or the whole family leaning on the fence in their rodeo attire.

Be sure to let us know when you schedule whether you want studio or outside portraits.  Book two sessions if you want both inside and outside (double fees required.)

Easter Bunnies

Bring your little ones in their new Easter clothes and let them have a very "hoppy" time with a real Easter bunny and several stuffed bunnies. Bring their Easter basket, any special eggs, and their Easter bunny, too, if you want.

These portraits can be taken in the Studio Yard with a child-sized bench and flowers or in the Studio in our all-white morning room with wicker furniture or on the white carpet in front of the Battenburg lace curtains.

Sessions will be 30 minutes long and we will take approximately 20 exposures.

Choo-Choo Train

All Aboard! Come be the engineer on a real Train Caboose. Children will enjoy seeing and climbing on the big red caboose. There is also a Train Depot for nostalgic portraits.

Train Portraits will be taken in Magnolia, TX with the restored train caboose and depot. Sessions will be 30 minutes long and we will take approximately 20 exposures.

Enchanted Forest

These portraits are as full of magic and imagination as your child is!  We have a set full of ferns, moss, trees, a swing and even a pond.  Hopping and fluttering with frogs, butterflies, and birds.  We have costumes for both girls and boys sizes 2T-5.

Sessions will be 45 minutes apart to allow for costume changing.  There is an age limit according to who can fit into our costumes or you can bring your own.  Approximately 20 exposures will be made during each session.

Enchanted Forest Photographs will be taken Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the studio. These adorable photographs will make great Mother's Day presents. Introduce a new client to us who also takes Enchanted Forest Portraits on the same day and you EACH will receive a FREE Color 8x10.
